INDIAN RAIL OFFICIAL: TAKE CARE WITH SENIORS ON ESCALATORS

An official at a railway station serving passengers in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha in eastern India, urged relatives of senior citizens to accompany them on escalators, following an incident on August 22 in which an elderly woman fell and suffered minor injuries to her leg, The Telegraph reports. Bhubaneswar Railway Station has heavy daily footfall of approximately 80,000, with 200 trains leaving or passing through each day. There are two escalators, as well as a foot overbridge that was inaugurated in June. However, one of the escalators is out of service.
